Lucy Todd is a dynamic computational chemical engineering PhD candidate with a passion for bridging the gap between science and the general public. With over a decade of experience in both British and Canadian education sectors, Lucy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as Founder and CEO.

As a prolific teacher, Lucy has worked with students ranging from 1-year-olds to individuals in their 60s, covering a diverse array of subjects including chemical engineering, organic chemistry, mathematics, music, choir, piano, dance, theology, and drama. Her dedication to making science accessible to all shines through in her vibrant, energetic teaching style.

Lucy has been honoured with a diverse array of prestigious awards, recognizing her outstanding achievements in academia and skills as a communicator. These have included awards from University of Winnipeg, University College London, The Golden Key, 3 Minute Thesis, FameLab, Society of Chemical Industry and The Royal Society of Chemistry.

With a reputation for being outgoing, professional, and highly qualified, Lucy is a passionate communicator who believes that everyone should have the opportunity to engage with and understand high-level, credible science.

Chief Technology Officer

Lars Ostervold is a dynamic Ph.D. chemical engineer with a passion for advancing green chemistry and empowering others through education and innovation. With a proven track record of driving impactful research and developing cutting-edge technologies, Lars currently serves as a Senior Research Specialist at Dow Chemical, where his contributions have led to patented reactor designs, data science advancements, and sustainability-focused initiatives.

As a mentor and leader, Lars has guided over 24 colleagues through a comprehensive data science academy and spearheaded collaborations that have resulted in high-impact publications and significant funding for research. His technical expertise spans diverse areas, including computational modeling, data visualization, and advanced materials characterization, coupled with hands-on experience in lab management and multi-disciplinary project coordination.

Lars has been honoured with prestigious accolades such as a Department of Energy fellowship and Dow’s ‘Champion’ Coder certification, underscoring his exceptional proficiency in merging science and technology. A passionate advocate for STEM education, Lars actively engages with communities through mentorship, classroom outreach, and science demonstrations to inspire the next generation of innovators.

Widely recognized for his creativity, professionalism, and commitment to sustainability, Lars is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of chemical engineering while making science accessible and impactful for all.

Passionate about growing businesses and services geared towards positive social change, she has over 10 years of experience in strategic planning, multi-stakeholder management, and ecosystem development through hybrid community architecture and management.

Previously, Ethel has worked with organisations such as Planet Positive Ventures, The University of Westminster, the Black British Business Awards, Aspire Education Group and SmileyGo (UC Berkeley). Former CEO & Cofounder of Sonaaar. A platform connecting black communities around the world.

She holds a BA (Hons.) in International Relations & Development Studies from the University of Westminster (2018) and has a PGCert in Corporate Governance & Business Ethics at Birkbeck College, University of London (2024).
